Our Goal

We aim to meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA on this website. We are not claiming full conformance: parts of the site have been measured and fixed, and other parts have not yet been formally audited. This page says which is which.

What Is In Place

• A "Skip to main content" link so keyboard users can bypass the navigation.
• Text and interface colours were measured against the WCAG contrast formula and darkened where they fell short of the 4.5:1 ratio for normal text.
• The page language is set correctly and changes when you switch between English and Spanish, so screen readers pronounce the content properly.
• Error messages and status updates are announced to screen readers rather than only appearing visually.
• The entire site, including the voting booth, is available in English and Spanish.
• Layouts are tested at phone, tablet, desktop and large (2K and above) screen sizes.
• Images that convey information have text alternatives; decorative icons are hidden from screen readers.

Known Gaps

We would rather tell you these than let you discover them:

• The interactive festival map relies on a third-party mapping library. Map pins may be difficult to reach by keyboard. The same information is available as text on the Schedule and Activities pages, and we will read it to you over email or phone on request.
• Some administrative pages used only by festival staff have not been audited for accessibility.
• Photos submitted by the public may not always carry a descriptive text alternative, because the description depends on what the person uploading provides.
• Video clips shown on the Community Altar screen have no audio track and carry no spoken content, so they have no captions.

At the Festival

The festival grounds at Starlight Ranch, 1415 Sunrise Dr, Amarillo, TX 79104 are wheelchair accessible, with accessible parking, restrooms and viewing areas.

If you need a specific accommodation — a seat with a clear sightline, a quieter area, an assistant admitted alongside you, or help using the voting kiosk — contact us before the event and we will arrange it. Festival staff can also cast a vote on your behalf at any gate if the voting booth is not usable for you.

Tell Us What Is Broken

If something on this site blocks you, we want to hear about it — a specific report ("the submit button on the vote page cannot be reached with Tab") helps far more than a general one, but send either. We will respond and tell you honestly whether we can fix it before the festival.
