La Catrina Cultural Contest — Youth & Adult Registration

Registration for the Youth Catrina (11–16) and Adult Catrina (17+) divisions of DODFest's La Catrina Cultural Contest. This is a cultural celebration honoring Día de Muertos, not a Halloween costume contest. Contestants under 18 need a parent or guardian to complete the guardian fields and sign.

Eligibility Rules

Participants must: 1) Register before the deadline (September 14, 2026). 2) Submit the registration form and fee. 3) Wear culturally respectful attire inspired by Día de Muertos (see costume guidelines below). 4) Sign all release forms and waivers. 5) Arrive 1 hour before start time, attend rehearsal before the event, and participate in any pre-production (video). 6) Follow stage timing strictly.

Attire & Costume Guidelines

Contestants must present a culturally respectful interpretation of La Catrina. Requirements: Catrina-inspired makeup, cultural elements. NOT permitted: store-bought Halloween costumes with no personalization, political messages or offensive symbols, graphic horror or gore effects, fire or hazardous props, live animals. Event staff reserve the right to disqualify inappropriate attire.

Media & Photo Release / Liability Waiver

By participating, contestants agree to: allow event organizers to photograph and record performances; permit use of media for promotional purposes; waive rights to compensation for media usage. LIABILITY WAIVER: The event organizers, venue, and sponsors are not responsible for lost or stolen items, injuries due to improper footwear or costume hazards, or personal property damage. Participants assume responsibility for their attire and props.
