Photograph DODFest

Help us capture Día de los Muertos in Amarillo. Authorized photographers get a media credential for festival day, credit on every photo we publish, and their own page on this site to share their work.

  1. Apply

Tell us about your work and sign the media release.

  2. Pick up your credential

If approved, at the ACLA info booth on October 24, 2026.

  3. Share your photos

Upload them after the festival with your private link, and get credit for them.

We review every application and approve photographers at our discretion. Photos are delivered without watermarks; we credit you by name and logo instead.

Authorized Photographer Media Release and Rules

This agreement is between you and the Amarillo Council for the Latino Arts (ACLA), which organizes DODFest. By signing, you agree to the terms below for the photos and videos you take at the festival as an authorized photographer.

1. Licence to ACLA

You keep the copyright in your photos and videos. You grant ACLA a non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual, worldwide licence to use, reproduce, edit, crop, publish and display the photos and videos you submit, in any media, to document and promote ACLA and DODFest, including in marketing, advertising, fundraising and other commercial materials. ACLA may share them with sponsors, partners and the press for coverage of the festival.

2. Clean files and credit

You will submit files without watermarks, logos, signatures or borders. ACLA will credit you by the name you give us (for example "Photo: Your Name") and may show your logo on your photographer page. Credit may be left out where a format does not allow it, such as reposts, and that is not a breach of this agreement.

3. Your own use

You may use your photos in your portfolio and on your own website and social media. You may not sell them, license them as stock, or use them in advertising for anyone else if they feature the DODFest or ACLA name or logos, sponsors, performers or artists’ work, without ACLA’s written permission.

4. No payment

This is an unpaid, credit-only arrangement. It does not make you an employee, contractor or agent of ACLA.

5. Your credential

Approval is at ACLA’s discretion. If approved, you pick up your media credential in person at the ACLA info booth on festival day. Wear it where it can be seen. It is personal and cannot be transferred, and ACLA may withdraw it at any time. Festival staff instructions come first.

6. Respect for ofrendas

Ofrendas and the Community Altar hold photos of people’s deceased loved ones. Photograph them respectfully, and do not make close-up commercial use of anyone’s personal ofrenda.

7. People in your photos

If someone asks not to be photographed, respect it and delete the photo if asked. Do not take close-up photos of children without a parent or guardian present, and never publish a child’s name or other identifying details.

8. Artists’ work

Artwork at the festival, including the Catrina exhibit, belongs to its artists. Photos of the festival may show it, but you may not reproduce an individual piece for sale.

9. Equipment and areas

Stay out of restricted areas unless staff let you in. Follow posted rules on flash and tripods, and do not block walkways or emergency routes. Drones are not allowed unless ACLA approves them separately in writing (an FAA Part 107 certificate, venue approval and insurance are required).

10. Uploading your photos

If approved, you will receive a private link to upload your photos after the festival, until the deadline shown on that page. Upload original, full-resolution JPEG, PNG, WebP or TIFF files. ACLA reviews every photo before anything is published.

11. Your information

ACLA uses the details in this application to review it, issue your credential, contact you and credit your work, as described in the DODFest Privacy Policy. Your phone, emergency contact and legal name are never published.

12. Risk

You attend and bring your equipment at your own risk. ACLA is not responsible for loss of or damage to your equipment.
